I STARTED OUT AS A CHILD... I was born and raised in Santa Barbara. I grew up surfing and riding bikes, building forts in the avocado orchards around my neighborhood and doing my best at school. I was always interested in art and I realized early on that I was noticing the details of arrangement more and more. It was in high school that I clearly heard the calling of my 25-year journey.
I signed up for Mrs. Measley's Mass Media class during my sophomore year at San Marcos High School. She showed me that every medium carries a message, and every message has a purpose, and that message is created by a designer. It changed my life. I have been fascinated with design and media ever since.
MY EDUCATION came with work experience at places like KEYT Television in Santa Barbara where I art directed the on-air graphics for Key News, and at Axiom Design in Salt Lake City working on merchandising campaigns for the entertainment industry. Yes, in Salt Lake City. Ask me to tell you about that. I'm also a dad to a healthy and creative ten year old. Enough said.
FORMAL EDUCATION comes from Cal Poly. The Cal Poly Art and Design Program was crucial to my foundation as a designer and the intense work load of the program primed me to manage my now demanding professional calendar. I graduated with an applied art and design degree.
